What a great morning! Well, really and truly i am not a morning person, especially 5 am mornings, but once I’m up and moving, I’m alot more pleasant to be around.
It’s always amazing to see how the state of our economy forces us to be creative in finding other sources of income. You have to be, or else you’ll sit around sulking about how miserable everything is, or how you’re not able to find a job, etc. But, the truth is God has given each of us ideas to create wealth; they’re inside of us, but it’s just to get in touch to access them. Well thankfully my husband and I were able to access one of those ideas. We knew we both loved food. It’s a passion we both share in different ways so we wondered how can we use that passion to create another income stream. Then it hit us. We got into the produce business and it’s been going great. It’s alot of work and it keeps us crazy busy but its definitely worth it and it has added richness to our lives. More than income, it has added to us a greater appreciation for sustainable living, created a greater enthusiasm to eat healthier and fresher, it has also been another quality time activity believe or not! Visiting farms, talking with the farmers, TASTING on the spot, you know that’s right up my alley. We even created an unofficial co-op with other farmers and I recently got into my own farming at the house. Well it’s tiny, just a few herbs - oregano, basil and red capsicum. Well I’m proud of it :). We’ve learnt tons about the fair trade movement, organic farming, other forms of energy, etc. I just love it!
Anyway, that’s a snippit of what’s up with me. There’s still lots going on where the music, and film(its been a while) is concerned, but i will leave that for a later post. Right now i’ll just post some pics of the beautiful produce from this morning’s run.
